These 4 quick money saving tips will help you keep your budget in line:

1. R-E-S-P-E-C-T your food.  Store it appropriately and it will last longer and reduce waste.

2. Buy a roast on sale and make 3 to 4 meals from it.  First day, serve the roast; second day, sandwich slices for lunches, pot pie in the freezer for the following week!

3. Cook a big pot of beans and freeze in portions to use as you would canned beans.  Tip: do not add salt until they have cooked completely in water only.

Earth Day - Be Kind to Our Earth! Go Green!

Today is an important day for all of us because it is Earth Day.  Just as the famous song goes, "We are the World, we are the future...," we are also the Earth, and we need to be kind to her.

There are many ways to be kind to our Earth. National Volunteer Week - Celebrate People in Action

Another important event to celebrate this week in addition to Earth Day, which is on April 22 and National Turn Off the TV Week, is the National Volunteer Week.

The National Volunteer Week is designated as a time to recognize all volunteers and the spirit of volunteerism.  This year the theme of the National Volunteer Week is Celebrate People in Action. 

According to many volunteers, the reward for their work is the satisfaction of helping others, active involvement in the community and the friendships that form through volunteer work - it is an enriching experience!

It is Turn Off the TV Week!

Buy moms, this week is the National Turn Off the TV Week!! The whole idea behind turning off the TV (video games and computer games, for that matter)) for a whole week is to encourage, especially, children to have a healthier and active life, more community participation and use electronic screened media responsibly.

Since parents set the example at home,  it is important that the efforts made to exercise more, eat better, or watch less TV are done as a family.  According to the Times Tribune.com,  in the average American home, the television is on for about 6 hours, 47 minutes a day!

Listen up busy moms! Tomorrow is a big day if you are a loyal follower of Oprah, a fan of Ashton Kutcher and an addict to Twitter - yes, an explosively exciting combination! 

Techcrunch.com published a post today stating that Oprah Winfrey announced on Facebook that she and Ashton Kutcher, the king of Twitter, are going to tweet to each other live on her show!!
