Lego Duplo - A Smart Toy for Your Child

As parents we are always looking for stimulating and educational toys for our children.  Not all toys are created equal and certainly, not all toys provide the same benefits for your developing child.  Just as they say that swimming is the best sport to work out your body from head to toes, Lego Duplo is the best toy to stimulate and educate your young child in multiple disciplines of development.  I personally call it a smart toy because it encourages and challenges children to think out of the box, be creative, discover and explore new things that they can achieve with the Lego Duplo pieces. 

Playing with Lego Duplo, kids develop new skills and learn about spatial and dimension concepts, which they easily learn to integrate in their creation, and what works and does not work.  In addition to contributing to fine-tune their fine motor skills, Lego Duplo, and Lego toys in general, teach children intangible skills such as patience and perseverance in addition to a great sense of satisfaction and pride when looking at their finished creation.

Learning and playing with Lego Duplo goes beyond achieving those personal little goals.  They learn that what they create they can also play with, keep as is or change the look of their original masterpiece or repair if it fell apart.  These are options they discover and put to practice at an early stage of life. 

For parents, it is a fantastic way to keep children entertained, and of course, when the Lego Duplo toy is a bit complex for their age, it is fun for adults to volunteer a helping hand. 

My three children love to play with Lego Duplo.  It is a smart toy for your young child, and a wonderful gift idea for the holidays that seem to be just around the corner. And, by the way, they can never have enough of Lego pieces! ;)
