Recall Alert: Kids' Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec, Benadryl

McNeil Consumer Healthcare and FDA notified healthcare professionals of a voluntary recall of certain over-the-counter (OTC) Children’s and Infants’ liquid products manufactured in the United States. Manufacturing defects have led to the recall of 43 child and infant liquid formulations including Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec, and Benadryl.

Some of these products may not meet required quality standards. This recall is not being undertaken on the basis of adverse medical events. However, as a precautionary measure, parents and caregivers should not administer these products to their children. These products were distributed in the United States, Canada, Dominican Republic, Dubai (UAE), Fiji, Guam, Guatemala, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, and Kuwait.

Recall Alert: Infantino recalls more than 1 million baby slings

Infantino LLC, of San Diego, Calif. announced a recall and a free replacement program for the Infantino “SlingRider” and “Wendy Bellissimo” infant slings. One million of these infant slings are being recalled in the United States and 15,000 are being recalled in Canada.

CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using these slings for infants younger than four months of age due to a risk of suffocation and contact Infantino for a free replacement product.

CPSC is aware of three reports of deaths that occurred in these slings in 2009; a 7-week-old infant in Philadelphia, Pa.; a 6-day-old infant in Salem, Ore.; and a 3-month-old infant in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Graco Recalls More Than 1 Million High Chairs.

Yesterday, Graco Children's Products Inc. of Atlanta is recalling more than a million of its Graco Harmony high chairs after getting hundreds of reports of the high chairs tipping over and 24 reports of children's injuries.

Recall Alert: Dorel Asia Recalls Cribs due Strangulation and Suffocation Hazards

Another recall involving cribs safety.  The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Dorel Asia SRL, of Barbados, announced a voluntary recall to replace drop side and non-drop side cribs that pose suffocation and strangulation hazards to infants and toddlers. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs until replacement kits are obtained and installed.

As you may have on the news, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc., of British Columbia, Canada, today announced the voluntary recall of more than 2.1 million Stork Craft drop-side cribs, including about 147,000 Stork Craft drop-side cribs with the Fisher-Price logo. The recall involves approximately 1,213,000 units distributed in the United States and 968,000 units distributed in Canada.  Details are as follows:
